How to Treat Butt Acne Naturally
Acne is a common thing that appears on any part of your body, including your buttocks. But this is irritable and painful when you are sitting. Acne on the buttocks is a usual thing to be happened but mostly the people feel embarrassed to talk about it as it sounds something strange.
Acne is a form of folliculitis, that is the infection of the hair follicles but it is commonly called as acne. The reason behind appearance of acne is due to the dead skin cells, impurities, living in the polluted environment, excess secretion of oil from the oil glands, inflammation of the hair follicles on the buttocks. Other causes might be from the bacteria, fungi or yeast because these also take a part to infect the hair follicles. Hair follicles on the buttocks are very much light so that are not easy visible from the naked eye that is why people do not realize about having the infected hair follicles.
Certain factors that depend upon the butt acne include poor nutrition, poor hygiene, wearing tight clothes, and exposure to harsh chemicals that interrupt the nature of your skin. Those people who are diabetic, obsessed and have weak immune systems are more prone to this problem.
This is not a big issue if you have butt acne because every problem does not need a doctor. You can sort out the problem yourself through natural home remedies that are so simple to apply. So here we go:
1. Warm Compress
Warm compress greatly works for the butt acne to reduce sooner. Warmth feeling draws out the bacteria and the pus coming out from the hair follicles.
For making a good warm compress, you should out salt water as it is antiseptic in nature so it will help in treating the mild infections too.
- Add 1 tsp of table salt in 2 cups of warm water.
- Take a clean washcloth and soak in this solution. Now wring out the excess water.
- Place this compress on the affected part of your skin for 15 minutes, when it becomes cool, apply a fresh compress.
- Do this remedy few times a day.
2. Ice Pack
Ice pack will not immediately help to heal the acne but if you use this, it will help in reducing the inflammation, redness and the size of the acne bumps.
- Put few of the ice cubes in a towel and bundle it up nicely.
- Now gradually press it on the butt acne for at least 15 minutes.
- Repeat the process few times a day.
You can also use cold water to wash the acne area.
Note: Never try to use the ice cubes directly on the skin because it can lead to frostbite.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
It is an all-rounder remedy for the purpose of each and every type of your skin problems therefore; it is helpful in reducing the butt acne. Apple cider vinegar contains antibacterial and antifungal properties and it is acidic in nature. It works to dissolve the dead skin cells and unclog the hair follicles so the acne would dry out quickly.
- In a warm bath tub, add 1 cup of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Soak the body in the bathtub for 15 minutes. Do this remedy at least 3 times a week.
- You can also add 2 tsp of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water. Drink this two times daily.
4. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is also considered as a good ingredient for healing the butt acne as it is a powerful antiseptic and helps in cleansing the follicles. It also helps in killing the harmful bacteria responsible for the butt acne.
- Take a cotton ball and put few drops of tea tree essential oil on it.
- Dab it on the butt acne.
- Let it dry out then rinse it off with lukewarm water.
- Repeat this remedy 3 times a day.
Do not try this remedy if your skin is sensitive or else, you can use dilute oil for using on your skin.
5. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera contains antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties as it soothes the skin and fight against the infected bacteria, responsible for butt acne.
- Cut and open the aloe vera leaf.
- Take out the gel out of the leaf.
- You can blend it to make it smoother for applying.
- Now apply the gel on the butt acne and allow it to dry for at least 20 minutes.
- Rinse it off and do this remedy for 3 times daily.
6. Coconut Oil
Also, coconut oil is the best thing for your skin problems as it has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Coconut oil reduces the redness, inflammation caused by the butt acne. It is a good moisturizer as well.
- Apply organic coconut oil directly on the affected skin and massage with the gentle hands. Reapply this oil a couple of times per day. Make sure your do not rinse it off.
- Optionally, you can make a paste by adding 1 tbsp of turmeric powder and a little bit amount of coconut oil together. Apply this thick paste on your affected skin and allow it to set for 30 minutes. Rinse it off thoroughly and do two times every day to get the faster results.
If coconut oil is not available, you can use extra-virgin olive oil in the same way.
7. Oatmeal
Oatmeal is very much effective remedy to treat the butt acne. It removes the impurities and dead skin cells.
- Grind about 1 cup of oats in a blender, now mix 1 cup of Epsom salt then store it in a container. Put 2 tbsp of this mixture in a clean washcloth and tie it finely. Dip this tied bundle in some warm water and gently hold it against the affected area for 15 minutes. Do this remedy few times daily for about 1 week.
- Another option is to mix 1 tbsp of oatmeal powder and plain yogurt with 1 tsp of turmeric. Mix them together and apply on your buttocks. Wait until the paste becomes dry, after that rub it using the circular motions of your hands for at least 5 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. Do this remedy once a week.
8. Toothpaste
White toothpaste is beneficial to treat the butt acne. Toothpaste contain antibacterial properties that help to get rid of the bacteria responsible for spreading the infection.
- Rub a small amount of white toothpaste on the affected area.
- Leave this for overnight.
- Wash it off with cold water in the next morning.
- Repeat the process daily.
9. Baking Soda
Baking soda works as an exfoliating agent that is helpful to scrub off the dead skin cells and clog the follicles. So you must try this amazing remedy from baking soda. It normalizes the pH level of your skin too.
- Make a paste of little amount of water and 1 tsp of baking soda.
- Apply it on the affected area.
- Allow it to sit for two minutes then rinse it off with cold water.
- Use this remedy once daily.
10. Aspirin
Aspirin helps in drying out the inflamed follicles as it works as an exfoliating agent to remove the dead skin cells thus protect your skin from scarring.
- Crush 2 uncoated aspirins.
- Add enough water to make a thin paste.
- Now add little bit of honey and olive oil.
- Apply this mask on the affected area.
- Allow it to dry for few minutes then rinse it off with warm water.
- Repeat two times daily for few days.
Additional Tips
- Take a shower after any workout to get rid out of the dirt and sweat.
- Change your underwear daily.
- Do not share your clothes or towels with others.
- Do not use fabric softeners if you possess sensitive skin.
- Exfoliate the buttock skin at least once a week.
- Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated all the time from inside and outside.
- Avoid sitting at one position for the long time and sleeping on your back.
- Take raw food to cleanse your body.
- Do not try to pop out your butt acne as it will spread the bacteria.
