After one or two days of hair wash, if your hair are getting oily and greasy then it means you have the oily hair problem. Oil secretion is a natural process from your scalp as to keep your hair healthy but the excess amount of oil secretion will be an annoying matter and you have to solve it as soon as possible.

There are some reasons of oily hair like genetics, hormonal changes, eating too much of oily food, stress and poor health of your hair. Oily hair is just like the lumps that never are manageable but look healthy. Oily hairs contain more dandruff and itchiness.

1. Apple Cider Vinegar
It is an effective remedy for oily hair as it has acetic acid which balances the pH levels of the scalp which in turn helps in controlling the oil secretion. Apple cider vinegar works as a potent hair tonic so do not wait for a second and use it then enjoy the silky, soft and shiny hair.
  • In a cup of water, mix three tbsp. of apple cider vinegar.
  • First wash your hair with a mild shampoo then use this solution to rinse off your hair.
  • Wait for few minutes then wash off with cold water.
  • Repeat two or three times a week.

2. Lemon

  • Mix the juice of two lemons in two cups of distilled water.
  • You can add three tsp of honey.

3. Black Tea
Black tea contains astringent which is called as tannic acid that helps to prevent the building up of excess oil in the scalp by tightening the pores.
  • In a cup of water, add two tbsp. of black tea leaves.
  • Boil it for 10 minutes.
  • Strain the leaves and allow the solution to cool down at room temperature.
  • Now pour the mixture on your scalp and hair.
  • Leave it for at least five minutes, rinse it off and wash your hair using a mild shampoo.
  • Repeat the remedy for three times a week.

4. Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has vitamins, minerals and enzymes that are really helpful in getting rid of oily hair. Aloe vera helps in detoxifying the scalp of impurities and controls the secretion of excess oil. Aloe vera also nourishes the roots of your hair. Along with this, aloe vera provides soothing and calming to your hair.
  • Take one cup of any mild shampoo and mix one tsp of aloe vera gel and one tbsp. of lemon juice in it.
  • Wash your hair and allow the shampoo on your hair for few minutes.
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water.

5. Baking Soda
Baking soda has oil-absorbing quality which is a great home remedy for oily hair. Baking soda is alkaline in nature so it is helpful in balancing the pH levels of scalp by reducing the vulgar smell.
  • Mix one part of baking soda in three parts of water to make a smooth paste.
  • Apply this paste on your damp hair and leave for at least five minutes.
  • Wash your hair with warm water.
  • Use this treatment twice a week.
  • Another option is to use baking soda as a powerful dry shampoo when you do not want to shampoo your hair. Put some baking soda in your hands and rub all through your hair. Brush your hair with a good quality of brush. Baking soda has the ability to absorb all the grease.

6. Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti)

  • In a three tbsp. of fuller’s earth, add a little water to make a thick paste.
  • Apply this paste on your scalp and hair.
  • Leave it for 10 to 20 minutes then wash it off with lukewarm water.
  • Use this treatment once a week for few times a month.

7. Egg Mask
Eggs are the good nourishing agent for your hair and scalp and control the greasy and oily hair. Egg whites fight against the oily hair whereas; the egg yolks are the rich sources of protein that strengthens your hair.
  • Apply one-half cup of whisked egg white on damp hair and leave it for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with a mild shampoo and repeat this remedy every two weeks.
  • Another option is to beat two egg yolks and mix two tbsp. of lemon juice in it. Apply this mixture on your damp hair and leave for at least five minutes. Wash it off with a mild shampoo and use this remedy for three times a week.

8. Tomatoes
Tomatoes are also acidic in nature which balances the pH levels of your scalp and control the excess oil secretion from your hair. Tomatoes also remove the foul odor of the scalp.
  • Make a paste of one tomato juice with one tsp of fuller’s earth.
  • Apply this mixture on your hair and scalp.
  • Cover the head with a shower cap and leave for 30 minutes.
